The Swim Center will be CLOSED on September 25 & 26 for a Swim Meet.
Additionally, on Friday September 24 the deep end of the pool will be setup for lap swimming in preparation for the weekend swim meet. Because of this, the deep end will not be available for recreational swimming in the afternoon/evening.
The public is welcome to use these deep lanes for lap swimming when available.
We are open for Public Lap Swimming, Open Swim, and Splash Pad time! Our pool is currently open on a walk-in basis. Consistent with current state guidance, unvaccinated individuals should plan to wear facial coverings when not in the water.
Based on available staffing, the Swim Center will be transitioning to Winter hours early, for weekdays only, effective September 7. Modified weekend hours will still be available through October 17, after which we will fully transition to the winter schedule. The modified hours are shown in the link below.
Rentals, Swim Lessons, and Water Aerobics will not be effected by this change at this time. As is the case for many industries right now, the City is experiencing challenges recruiting part-time temporary staff, including lifeguards. The Swim Center is actively looking for certified lifeguards and is specifically looking for candidates that are available for weekday mornings and midday hours. Applications can be submitted at www.poway.org/jobs.

The Swim Center still includes a 50-meter by 25-yard pool with attached diving well and shallow children’s area. The facility offers one- and three-meter diving boards, open swim areas, lap swimming lanes, and full locker rooms. The locker rooms now offer individual shower stalls and private changing areas. The facility has a new entrance that opens onto the pool deck and the facility now has two single-use/family restrooms.
The pool is maintained between 80 and 84 degrees, providing for comfortable swimming for various aquatic activities.
