[ARCHIVED] Poway Announces New City Engineer

The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Tracy Beach to the position of city engineer. Beach has been Poway’s acting city engineer since September 2022. The city engineer oversees all engineering activities and programs of the Development Services department, including capital improvement program design, construction and inspection, traffic engineering, and land development engineering.

Beach began her career with the City of Poway in 2014. She started as an associate civil engineer in the Land Development section of Development Services.  She promoted to senior civil engineer for Land Development in 2018, managing staff that worked on the review of private development projects. She also managed the storm water quality program and the floodplain management program for the city. 

A resident of Poway, Beach said that she hopes to spend the rest of her career working for the city. 

“I’m excited to continue my professional growth as well as to serve the community that I love and also live in.” Beach said. 

Beach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University and professional engineering license (PE) from the state of California. She is also a certified floodplain manager (CFM) and is certified by the state for construction storm water development.
