The City of Poway proudly announces the launch of programming for older adults at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center.
The line-up of free and low-cost activities provide opportunities to socialize, hone skills and experience the benefits of exercise at the city’s brand new multi-generational community center opening Monday, June 21. The popular (and free!) line dancing and “Feeling Fit” classes are returning, as well as drop-in days for games and socializing. A hula class designed specifically to help older adults with flexibility, strength, coordination, posture, and confidence will be offered this summer with more low-cost classes being lined up for fall.
Details on these activities, plus the nutrition program, will be posted at poway.org/olderadults. These classes and activities are made possible in part through support from the Friends of Poway Seniors, which has refocused efforts from providing services (at the former Poway Senior Center) to fundraising to enrich programming at Poway’s new multi-generational community center.
