The Lookout at Lake Poway is transforming the former concessions store into a destination in and of itself. Poway native Josh Arbenz, who also runs The Hamburger Factory in Old Poway Park, envisions The Lookout as a place with something for everyone – whether they come to the lake to fish, hike, play on the playground or just relax.
“What I’m most excited about is creating a space for the whole community to enjoy,” Josh said.
Currently, The Lookout is open for selling fishing permits, bait and tackle (with more stock coming in), duck food, snacks and coffees drinks, including lattes. The business is close to being approved to sell hot food (such as breakfast panini or banana fosters waffle), and beer and wine. The patio overlooking the lake (hence the name The Lookout!) will be furnished soon and a soft serve ice cream machine is on its way.
Once everything is in place, a grand opening will be announced. But in the meantime, you are always welcome to stop in and enjoy one of the best views around.
