Residents have reached out to the City of Poway with concerns over the possible removal of a footbridge that connects Painted Rock Elementary School to neighborhood horse trails in the Green Valley/Valle Verde area. We understand the community’s concern over potentially losing this point of access for students and their families walking to school. The City and Poway Unified School District are working on a solution to keep the bridge in place.
There are considerations beyond what the public may be aware of - including regulatory considerations in building a structure over a natural floodway - that are imperative to address, and we are committed to doing so.
