The County of San Diego’s Agricultural and Livestock Pass Program (AgPass) was created to support commercial farm and ranch owners/operators in the event of an emergency. An AgPass permits limited access inside a restricted area, when it is deemed safe, to care for crops and animals.
To participate in Poway, businesses must apply for a pass and attend the mandatory half-day training on Monday, June 24.
Poway agricultural/livestock operations must have a current City of Poway Business Certificate and meet the requirements established by San Diego County Agriculture Weights and Measures (https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/sdc/sdcfa/crr-main-menu/ag-pass1). Only owner/operators or employees with management responsibilities may be issued an AgPass and all individuals requesting an AgPass must attend the training.
The mandatory training (and only training offered in 2024) is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 24. It covers fire safety and operations, how to evacuate, and how to avoid getting trapped. The application and additional program details are available on the city’s website at poway.org/businesspreparedness.
