The updated 2020-2029 Housing Element is available for review on the City’s website through January 19.
On August 3, 2021, the City Council adopted an updated Housing Element of the General Plan. The City Council adopted the Housing Element with direction to City staff to continue to coordinate with the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) to address HCD’s comments to achieve State certification. After working with HCD to address their comments, the City submitted draft revisions to the adopted Housing Element to HCD on October 30, 2022 for a required 60-day review. Since then, City staff has been working continuously with HCD staff to address their comments on the document, including several informal reviews by HCD.
The Housing Element Update has been revised and is ready for final review by HCD for certification. The revised document addresses all comments received from HCD as a part of their previous reviews. State law requires that the updated housing element be available for public review for seven days prior to submittal to HCD for the final 60-day review.

Comments on the Housing Element can be sent to either staff member and will be forwarded to HCD with the submittal for review.
