The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Judy Tran to the Director of Finance position. She oversees the city’s finance, information technology and customer services divisions. This includes the preparation of the city’s annual budget and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), overall management of the city’s finances, maintenance of the city’s award winning (MISAC) computer systems, and utilities related billing, customer service, and meter reading/maintenance functions.
Tran has an extensive resume and was most recently deputy finance director for the Los Angeles Superior Courts. She has 20 years of finance experience with the City of Azusa, Southern California Edison, and the UCSD Foundation.
“Poway’s tradition of financial stewardship and sustainability is what drew me to the city,” Tran said. “I look forward to supporting our city executive team by ensuring we maintain the financial, technological and customer service resources we have in place to provide the highest level of public service to Poway residents.”
Tran is a native San Diegan and graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her finance career and obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of La Verne.
