2023 Fall Camping Flyer

The final stock of the Catfish season was on September 1st with 900 lbs. of Catfish. 

Catfish: Catfish bite continues to be the most consistent fish to target at Lake Poway. Every week anglers fishing off both the shoreline and boats have luck. Recommended baits for targeting this fish are mackerel, chicken liver, and stink baits. Hot spots were the Fishing Pier, Buoy Line, and the Beach.

Bass: Recommended baits are night crawlers, creature jigs, and plastic worms. Hot spots for the week were Fishing Pier and Jump off Point.

Angler of the Month: Weigh in your largest caught fish at the boat dock (dock scale must be used by city staff). Prizes will be given away each month in the following categories: Bass, Catfish, and Trout.  Prizes include Two Fishing Permits and a Full Day Motorboat.

Fall Camping Series: Camping your way! Set up your tent and explore the park at your own pace. Hike the many trails, drop a line to catch a fish, cruise the lake on a motorboat, or simply relax by your campsite and take in all the natural beauty that Lake Poway offers. Fishing permits and boat rentals are not included, but may be purchased for a nominal fee. 

Motorboat rentals are available until an hour and a half before sunset. All boats must be returned to dock thirty minutes before sunset. Fishing from shoreline is permitted until 11 PM, permits must be purchased prior to closer of the Concession.
