[ARCHIVED] After the Storm

sandbags

Although the recent storm was less severe than anticipated by weather experts, your preparation can still go to good use.

Place your sandbags in a location to dry out and then move them out of direct sunlight to protect the bags from disintegrating. You’ll be a step of ahead of the game in case this year’s El Niño winter brings an abundance of rain back to our region. Poway residents can also return sandbags back to one of the city's three sandbag stations. Leave filled sandbags on the ground next to the sandbag rack, or return empty sandbags to the sandbag dispenser rack. (Read this County News Center article for more tips.)

If you bought extra non-perishable supplies, take stock of your family’s emergency preparedness “Stay Box” and swap out any items that need replacing. (Learn more about emergency preparedness for individuals/families.)
