With the goal of increasing the reliability of drinking water for water customers now and generations to come, the City of Poway is beginning the largest capital improvement program (CIP) in the city’s 40-year history. An update on the planned CIP will be presented to the Poway City Council at the March 16 council meeting.
The CIP will include substantial improvements to the clearwell (water storage reservoir) at the water treatment plant and a new San Diego County Water Authority treated water connection. The city is completing these infrastructure improvement projects as part of an agreement between Poway and the State Division of Drinking Water.
The March 16 council meeting starts at 7 p.m. Due to the ongoing pandemic, City offices continue to be closed to the public but the council meeting is open for virtual participation. Visit poway.org/councilmeetings for information on viewing and participating online.
