[ARCHIVED] Introducing EDCO’s New Green Waste Cart

green carts delivered

EDCO will deliver new, automated carts for green waste recycling to residents in Poway beginning Sept. 14 through Oct 2. These green 95-gallon wheeled carts are the equivalent of approximately three (or more) standard containers and is the same size as the current standard gray automated trash cart.

After the initial delivery, you will be able to request a smaller cart if needed for space constraints, or if you are physically unable to move the larger carts. You will be provided with smaller automated carts equaling the same 95-gallon capacity. You can also request up to two additional 95-gallon green carts free of charge.

Automated green waste collection will begin on your regularly scheduled service day the week following delivery of your new automated cart. Please only place the following into your bin:

  • grass clippings
  • brush
  • weeds
  • hedge trimmings
  • branches
  • leaves
  • palm fronds
  • wood
  • ice plant (in very small quantity-cart filled only halfway)
  • ivy
  • floral decorations
  • untreated and non-lead based painted wood

All green waste material must be placed loosely inside the green waste cart for collection. Do not place plastic bags in the automated carts as these bags contaminate the loads, causing the green waste material to be non-recyclable.
