The City of Poway has ranked #13 in the 2020 SafeWise “50 Safest Cities in California” report. Poway was the highest-ranked San Diego County city named to this annual list of California’s safest cities based on FBI crime data and population statistics.
“It’s comforting to know that during this time of uncertainty Poway remains the safest city in the county and one of the safest cities in all of California,” said Poway Mayor Steve Vaus. “We’re thankful for the continued dedication and hard work of our Sheriff’s deputies that make this honor possible.”
Incorporated in 1980, the City of Poway is home to approximately 50,000 residents. “The City in the Country” is known for its safety, fiscal management, natural beauty, commitment to open space and recreational opportunities.
