The City of Poway and Poway Sheriff’s Station are offering a free training for businesses, houses of worship and community members to prepare for – and respond in the event of – an active shooter incident.  The training is Wednesday, June 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Poway City Council Chambers, 13325 Civic Center Drive in Poway.

A San Diego Sheriff’s deputy will share strategies for reducing risks in workplaces, houses of worship or any physical location. Attendees will gain valuable insight for assessing threats and increasing their chances of staying safe in event of an active shooter incident.

No RSVP is needed to attend. For more information, contact Eric Kant (eric.kant@sdsheriff.org) or Susy Turnbull (sturnbull@poway.org).
