[ARCHIVED] Espola Road Safety Improvements Project Changes

budget-adoption-TS

The Poway City Council has opted to terminate its contract with Just Construction for the Espola Road Safety Improvements Project effective Tuesday, Jan. 22. The traffic control currently in place will be removed and the traffic signal at the Del Poniente/High Valley and Espola Road intersection will be returned to its original configuration/timing on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The City will work with its design team and with SDG&E to thoroughly review design plans, construction schedule coordination, utility and design conflicts, potential traffic control plans, and other items of concern before rebidding the remaining work. While SDG&E will begin work on its undergrounding project in the short-term, the City expects that work on its portion of the project will be on a several-month hiatus before a new contract for construction is awarded.

The City of Poway remains committed to this important project, which will improve safety for those who walk, jog or ride horses along this essential transportation corridor.
