The City of Poway invites the community to the annual Fire Department Open House on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at Poway Fire Station 1, 13050 Community Road (at the corner of Civic Center Drive).
Coinciding with national Fire Prevention Week, the open house is an opportunity to highlight this year’s theme: “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!” In a fire, seconds count. Seconds can mean the difference between someone escaping safely from a fire or having a life end in tragedy.
The open house will include tours of the fire station and the Kid’s Safety House, a unique hands-on experience to teach children how to prevent fires and stay safe in the event of a fire.
Nothing is more important than the safety of your family, so bring your kids and have some fun while you learn how to protect your family from fire! For more information, contact Jillian Wright at (858) 668-4460 or jwright@poway.org.
