The City of Poway will begin its annual street maintenance the week of June 12, with a scheduled completion in late September. In an effort to keep public streets safe and accessible, the city rotates street repairs, with one of eight street maintenance zones worked on each year.
The first phase of this year’s project will address deep patch and crack sealing on Pomerado Road from Poway Road to the southern city limit, Scripps Poway Parkway from Pomerado Road to the western city limit, Poway Road from Community Road to the western city limit.
The second phase of the project will be slurry sealing all of the streets within street maintenance Zone 8. Work on major roadways within the general boundaries of Zone 8 will occur on Sundays as to minimize impact to the public.
Street work will require partial and full closures, depending on the scheduled activities. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of the street work.
Electronic message signs will be stationed to notify motorists of current road work information. Additional information along with a map of Zone 8 streets will be posted to the City’s website at poway.org/roads.
