The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Jodene Dunphy to the position of Human Resources and Risk Management Director. She will lead the development of this newly-created department, which was formerly part of the City’s Administrative Services department.
Dunphy brings a wealth of knowledge to her position in the areas of human resources and risk management, having worked for three cities over the past 21 years. She started her career in the public sector as an intern and worked her way up to human resources & risk management director for the City of Santee, where she worked for a total of 17 years. She also worked for the City of Encinitas before joining Poway and was responsible for leading the human resources team within the city manager’s office.
“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be a part of an outstanding organization with incredibly hard working, talented and service oriented employees,” Dunphy said. “Together with staff members of the newly created human resources and risk management team, I look forward to serving the community by supporting the organization through collaboration with staff from all City departments.”
Dunphy has a Bachelor’s degree in economics and a Master’s degree in public administration from San Diego State University.
