Opportunities are now available for Poway residents interested in taking an active role in their community. The Budget Review and Parks and Recreation Advisory committees have the following vacancies:
The Budget Review Committee reviews the annual Operating and Capital Improvement Budget as proposed by the City Manager, and reports its findings to the City Council. Five positions are open for this committee. Each councilmember provides a nomination to the committee, which is appointed by the mayor.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee advises City Council on the parks and recreational needs of Poway and encourages community involvement as it pertains to park development and recreational programming. Committee appointment coincides with councilmember terms; there are currently two vacancies due to the two council positions elected in November. Committee members are nominated by a councilmember and approved by council.
Applicants must be Poway residents. Information is posted online and available in the City Clerk’s office at 13325 Civic Center Drive. Applications must be submitted by January 23.
