The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Wendy Kaserman to the position of assistant city manager. Kaserman joined the City of Poway staff in March as its director of administrative services, overseeing the city’s human resources, finance, billing and information technology services.

“Wendy has quickly brought herself up to speed on important projects since she joined the city earlier this year,” Poway City Manager Tina White said. “In her new role she will add even more value to our team.”

Prior to coming to Poway, Kaserman was the assistant to the city manager/fiscal services manager for her hometown of San Marcos. Her responsibilities included budget and contract oversight, management of the city’s performance measurement program, and development of policies and procedures.

She also worked in Arizona for the town of Queen Creek and League of Arizona Cities and Towns. Kaserman earned an undergraduate degree in political science from Arizona State University and a master of public administration degree from the University of Arizona.

“I’m excited to serve the community in this new capacity,” Kaserman said. “What I love most about city government is that it’s the level of government closest to the people. City employees have the opportunity to directly interact with residents and businesses and see the impact of our work on a daily basis.”

Incorporated in 1980, “The City in the Country” is known for its safety, fiscal management, natural beauty, commitment to open space and recreational opportunities and a thriving business sector.
