The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Nancy Neufeld to the position of city clerk. The city clerk provides the link between citizens and government by coordinating the legislative process, administering city elections and ensuring that public records are preserved, archived and accessible to the public. The clerk also acts as a compliance officer for federal, state and local statutes, including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act and the Public Records Act.
Neufeld most recently was deputy city clerk with the City of La Mesa, but started her career in public service with the City of Poway just a few years after the city incorporated.
“I feel like I’ve come full circle,” Neufeld said. “I left Poway for family reasons and never dreamed I’d have this opportunity to come back. It’s exciting to see the changes that have happened in this city while I’ve been away and to have the chance to be a part of its future.”
Poway Assistant City Manager Tina White said, “We are excited to have Nancy return to Poway. She possesses all the attributes of an ideal city clerk – strong management, interpersonal and communication skills. She is passionate about working in public service, providing exceptional customer service and promoting open government.”
Neufeld is a Certified Municipal Clerk and is working toward her Master Municipal Clerk designation.
