Poway ranked in the “50 Safest Cities in California in 2015!” Poway placed 26th based on low violent and property crime rates. The report used 2013 FBI crime data to analyze and rank cities with a population greater than 10,000.
Poway’s Mayor Steve Vaus said “It’s no surprise that Poway continues to be the safest city in the county and that we’re among the 50 safest cities in the state. We are exceptionally well-served by the Sheriff’s Department and by a tireless team of volunteers on our Senior Patrol. Public Safety has always been, and always will be, our top priority.”
SafeWise Security Analyst Alexia Chianis said, “We found that the average violent crime rate of California’s safest places to call home was 70 percent less than the typical American community experiences, and its property crime rate was nearly 60 percent less than the national average. Those are some really impressive numbers!”
