The City of Poway announced the selection of Captain Claudia Delgado to lead the San Diego Sheriff’s Poway Station. Captain Delgado most recently served as lieutenant at the Fallbrook Substation, where she supervised all patrol and administration operations.
“Captain Delgado’s experience demonstrates a commitment to community-oriented policing,” said Poway City Manager Chris Hazeltine. “She is appreciative of the quality-of-life issues that are important to Poway’s residents and businesses and will serve us well. We are excited to welcome her to the team.”
Captain Delgado started her career with the San Diego Sheriff’s department in 2006. Over the past 18 years she has held positions at a detention facility, courthouse, Sheriff’s administrative center and multiple Sheriff stations and substations. She said these diverse assignments, along with her strong investigative background, have shaped and prepared her for this role.
“Poway has a strong sense of community, and I am looking forward to becoming a part of it,” said Captain Delgado. “We will continue to foster community relationships and provide the best law enforcement services to keep Poway the safest city in the county. “
Poway’s former captain, Nancy Blanco, was recently promoted to commander. Congratulations to Commander Blanco, who now oversees the Sheriff’s investigations division, including major crimes, narcotics and gangs, and the Regional Crime Laboratory.
