Prices have been lowered for remaining tickets to the April 1 Music and Memories benefit concert honoring Tony Gwynn. The event kicks off fundraising efforts for the Gwynn memorial in Poway and will take place at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts beginning at 8 p.m.

Tickets now range from $35 to $75, with an additional 50% discount available for the few remaining seats using the ticket code MVP at www.powaycenter.com.

The tribute features local sports celebrities and musical talent including Gwynn’s longtime Padres teammate, Tim Flannery, with his band the Lunatic Fringe. Former teammate Trevor Hoffman, former Charger linebacker Shawne Merriman and former major league pitcher and San Diego Padres television commentator Mark Grant will be on hand to share stories and memories about Tony.

Richie McDonald, the face and voice of country music’s preeminent group Lonestar, will give a special solo performance. Also appearing will be Poway mayor and Grammy winning recording artist Steve Vaus, former Hudson & Bauer morning show “sidekick” Glen Erath, San Diego Music Award winner Eve Selis and others. ww

The evening will include great music and memories of Poway’s hometown hero. In addition, there will be a live auction featuring unique Gwynn memorabilia and the opportunity to be recognized as a sponsor on the memorial’s donor wall. The evening concludes with the unveiling of the selected memorial design.

All proceeds directly fund the Tony Gwynn memorial. Tickets are available at powaycenter.com.

Don’t miss the opportunity to honor this great man! For more information, please call (858) 668-4585. Donations may also be made at: https://www.crowdrise.com/tonygwynn.
