[ARCHIVED] Bridge Over Highway 67 Being Considered

bridge.jpg

The County of San Diego, City of Poway, and Caltrans are considering building a pedestrian-equestrian bridge over Highway 67 to connect multiple hiking areas into a single network, which would include:
Iron Mountain, Mount Woodson, Lake Poway, Dos Picos County Park, Coast to Crest Trail (San Dieguito River Park Trail); Trans County Trail, Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).

Possibly, in time, other hiking areas and trails south of Iron Mountain will be connected to this network, perhaps as far south as Chula Vista. The bridge will offer a healthy alternative for transit to work, school, shopping and special events.

Please take a few minutes to respond to a brief, three-question survey, which will help officials decide whether to build this bridge. The proposed location is 1.75 miles north of the Poway Road / Highway 67 intersection.
