Catfish were still biting mackerel and chicken livers this week. The catfish are located deep and the best spot still continues to be the log boom close to the North shore. Windy conditions meant limited action on Sunday afternoon.
The lake temperature has finally dropped to an ideal 65 degrees, meaning conditions will be perfect for Lake Poway's Opening Day on Thursday, December 4th. The lake will be freshly stocked with 3,000 pounds of Chaulk Mound Farm's famous "Nebraska Tailwalkers". Come on out and enjoy the best permit prices in the area.
Lake Poway is closed to fishing and boating on Mondays & Tuesdays. The lake will also be closed Wednesday, December 3rd as we prepare for Trout Season Opening Day on December 4th. The park is open seven days a week, 6:00 AM - sunset (currently 5:00 PM). Lake Poway will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
