With the weather cooling at night, the water temperature is continuing to fall. This means good news for trout, as we are only a couple of weeks away from the 2014-2015 Lake Poway Trout Season Opening Day! In the meantime, catfish are still being caught in different areas of the Lake. Mackerel seems to be the most successful bait lately, while most of the action remains near the log boom.
Lake Poway's Opening Day will be Thursday, December 4th. The lake will be freshly stocked with 3,000 pounds of Chaulk Mound Farm's famous "Nebraska Tailwalkers". Come on out and enjoy the best permit prices in the area.
Lake Poway is closed to fishing and boating on Mondays & Tuesdays. The lake will also be closed Wednesday, December 3rd as we prepare for Trout Season Opening Day on December 4th. The park is open seven days a week, 6:00 AM - sunset (currently 5:00 PM). Lake Poway will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
