Despite the recent warm weather, the water temperature has continued to drop. The lake currently stands at 71 degrees. Catfish are still being caught, although the numbers are beginning to slow down. The log boom near the North Shore has proven to be the most active spot this week, with several limits being caught. Mackerel continues to be the best bait.
Who is ready for trout season? Lake Poway's Opening Day will be Thursday, December 4th. The lake will be freshly stocked with 3,000 pounds of Chaulk Mound Farm's famous "Nebraska Tailwalkers". Come on out and enjoy the best permit prices in the area.
Lake Poway is closed to fishing and boating on Mondays & Tuesdays. The lake will also be closed Wednesday, December 3rd as we prepare for Trout Season Opening Day on December 4th. The park is open seven days a week, 6:00 AM - sunset (currently 5:00 PM).
