Lake Poway was stocked with 1,500 lbs. of trout on Thursday, April 8th. The trout bite was good right off the bat on Thursday and stayed good throughout the weekend. The North Shore had a good bite and the usual spots by the fishing pier and Half-Moon Bay were also good. On Saturday, April 10th Eric and his daughter Hailey caught a trout by the fishing pier throwing out some PowerBait (see photo). The last stock of trout for this season will be Thursday April 22nd. The best baits for trout this season have been mini jigs, spoons, and power bait. The bass and catfish bite has remained steady off the shoreline. Catfish can be caught with mackerel, shrimp, or nightcrawlers.
Boating Closed - Due to damage sustained during a recent windstorm, the boat dock has remained temporarily closed and boats are not available for rent. Please check back for updated information.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store. Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
