Lake Poway Trout Season: Lake will be stocked this week (January 18-24) with 1,500 lbs. of Rainbow Trout

Boating Closed - Due to damage sustained during a recent windstorm, the boat dock is temporarily closed and boats are not available for rent. Please check back for updated information.

The expected trout stock for this week did not arrive and will be delivered this coming week.  The trout are beginning to spread out in the lake and are being caught further along the shoreline from Boulder Bay and Hidden Bay to Bucktail Bay.  On Thursday January 14th a 10.1 lb. bass was caught by Dawson Short using a swimbait off the North Shore (see photo).  The catfish bite has been steady all year, when boats are available it’s best to post up on the Log-Boom and if fishing from the shoreline catfish are most frequently caught from Jump Off Point onward.  The best baits for trout this season have been mini jigs (natural colored or yellow / orange), spinners, and power bait.

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store.  Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
