This was another great week for catfish at Lake Poway. The best spot at the lake was the fishing pier, while Half Moon Bay and the North Shore were still producing decent catfish numbers. Bass are still elusive but can be caught along the buoy line, as well as the east side of the lake.
The 2014 trout season will begin a couple of weeks later than usual, due to the warm water temperatures we have recently had. The water temperature is currently sitting at 77 degrees. Opening day is tentatively scheduled to be the first week in December.
Lake Poway is closed to fishing on Mondays & Tuesdays and will be closed to boating Monday-Friday during the month of October. The park is open seven days a week, 6:00 AM - sunset.
