It was a great week for catfish at Lake Poway! Half Moon Bay was the hot spot on Friday, September 26th, while anglers on the North Shore and those in boats did well Saturday and Sunday. The cooler weather is helping the Lake become more active and catfish are now biting throughout the day. Currently, mackerel is the best bait for catfish, while bass are continuing to hit artificial bait.
Lake Poway is closed to fishing on Mondays and Tuesdays and will be closed to boating Monday-Friday through the month of October. The park is open seven days a week, 6:00 AM to sunset.
