Trout Season is here! Lake Poway stocked 1,500 lbs. of Nebraska Tail Walkers on December 11th and will stock again this coming Wednesday December 18th. The shoreline was pulling in limits the day of the stock from Half Moon Bay, Jump Off-Point, and Hidden Bay. It was slow for boats trolling but boats were doing better off of the opposite shoreline.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. See the flyer below for the complete Stocking schedule.
The winner of our biggest trout contest was fourteen-year-old Jack Smith from Poway. He caught his prize-winning Nebraska Tail walker on December 7th using a mouse-tail while fishing the shoreline by Jump Off Point. Included in his Prize Basket was a $50 gift certificate donated by Dick’s Sporting Goods, a free boat rental, and two free fishing permits for Lake Poway along with a selection of lures and bait.
