March Madness is still going strong! Jeff Kopischke had the leading catch with an eight-pound catfish! He caught it using mackerel for bait from a boat on the log boom. Jeff is a long time Lake Poway regular and he nearly always leaves with a limit. Though the winner was a catfish again the runners up were all Tailwalkers.
James Doerner had a 6.5 pound Tailwalker. There was a four-way tie at 5 pounds between Logan Howarter, Richard Narvaez, Dallas Labor, and Tu Vo. Richard caught his fish South of Hidden Bay using a spoon. Dallas hooked his rainbow in Half Moon Bay on a mini-jig. Tu caught his Tailwalker at the North Buoy Line using Hook ‘em Bait.
There are only 2 weeks left in our inaugural March Madness competition. Come out before the end of the month and get in on the action. Each week there will be prizes awarded for the biggest fish of any type caught. The competition is open to all ages. Fish must be weighed and recorded at the boat dock. See our website for details. https://poway.org/401/Lake-Poway.
Next stock: March 27th, 1,500 pounds of Trophy Tailwalkers.
