The Catfishing was great on Friday night, especially for 13-year-old Cylas who caught his first fish ever. It was a nice 3-pound catfish that he caught using Mackerel from a boat in Boulder Bay.
Many anglers caught limits Friday night, both on boats and from the shore.
For boats the best spots were the log boom and Boulder Bay. Shore anglers did well in Half Moon Bay and Hidden Bay.
The best bait is still mackerel, but some people had luck with salmon.
Catfish Season and Night Fishing are in full swing! Boats can stay out until 11:00 PM and the lake will be open until 11:30 PM. Sorry no fishing on Mondays or Tuesdays
Night Fishing will continue on Friday and Saturday nights until September 1st. Catfish will be stocked July 3rd, 13th, and 27th and August 10th and 24th. Stocking schedule subject to change.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 6:00 PM (9:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays during night fishing) so come early enough to buy your permit or rent a boat.
