Lake Poway Fish Reports

Jeff Kopischke, reeled in a four pound catfish Friday. (see photo) He was fishing near Jump Off Point using Mackerel for bait.

The BIG NEWS is that Catfish Season and Night Fishing start next week! We will be stocking on July 3rd, sorry no fishing on Mondays or Tuesdays, and we will be open for fishing July 4th. July 6th we will begin Night Fishing. Boats can stay out until 11:00 PM and the lake will be open until 11:30 PM.

Night Fishing will continue on Friday and Saturday nights until September 1st. Catfish will be stocked July 3rd, 13th, and 27th and August 10th and 24th. Stocking schedule subject to change.

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 6:00 PM, so come early enough to buy your permit or rent a boat.
