Jeffery and Christal Kopischke of Chula Vista both caught their limits of trout on Mother’s Day (photo). They were fishing the middle of the lake using night crawlers for bait when they hooked the eight Tailwalkers. The bass bite is still strong, and we saw some nice catfish this week as well.
Next up for Lake Poway is Catfish Season and Night Fishing starting in early July.
Lake Poway will be hosting our ever-popular Family Campouts again this summer. The dates are July 7 and 21, and August 4. Registration opens May 15th. (Registration link: https://apm.activecommunities.com/cityofpowaycsd/Home). More details are on the Calendar at poway.org.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 6:00 PM, so come early enough to buy your permit or rent a boat.
