This Saturday February 3rd was the 23rd Annual Youth Fishing Derby at Lake Poway. The pre-Derby campout on Friday had the most attendees ever! Hundreds of kids had a great time fishing and enjoying the activities. The winner in the 7 and under category was Ried S. with a 2.54 pound Tailwalker. In the 8 to 11 age group Cole H. took the honors with his 5.36 pound catch. The winner in the 12 to 15 age range was Myles H. with a 5.13 pound trout. The Grand Prize went to 12 year old Ryan M. who brought in a 5.78 pound Tailwalker. Thanks to all the families who came out and all the volunteers who continue to make this a huge success every year.
Sunday John Crine of Murrieta landed a nice 8 pound Tailwalker. He was fishing the buoy line using a nightcrawler for bait.
