It was a pretty good week for catfish both from boats and shore. The catch picked up Friday and continued through the weekend. Bass are still elusive, but a few were caught from boats and the fishing pier. Lake Poway is filling up so the terrain is changing and the water is cooling just in time for trout season.
Trout season will be here before you know it, so get ready to catch the big Nebraska Tailwalkers here at Lake Poway.
The official opening date for this year’s trout season is November 30th. IMPORTANT! Lake Poway will be closed to fishing and boating on November 29th for stocking.
See our website for the complete stocking schedule.
Next stock: Trout, November 29th, 1,500 pounds.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 4:00 PM, so come early enough to buy your permit or boat.
