The Lake Poway catfish record falls again! Avery Lee, age 11, of Rancho Penasquitos caught the massive 47 pound fish November 2nd using mackerel while fishing the log boom. He was using 12 pound test while fishing with family and when we weighed it at the dock it was exactly 47 pounds.
Several normal sized catfish were also caught this week.
The other news is we have an official opening date for this year’s trout season, November 30th. We will have more details as the date gets closer.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 4:00 PM, so come early enough to buy your permit or boat.
