Poway local and Lake Poway regular Kirk Aguon hooked five nice catfish for his limit Saturday morning. He was using mackerel for bait and fishing Boulder Bay. The bite was a little slower this week but we are stocking this Friday so the catch should improve for night fishing this week. This is will be the last stock of the season and Saturday, August 26th will be the last night of night fishing so if you want to try for some catfish come out soon.
We will be stocking catfish July 7th through August 18th (details below) and we will have night fishing until 11:30 PM (boats in by 11:00 PM) Friday and Saturday nights from July 7th to August 26th. During Night Fishing Half-Day boats start at 4 PM and you must bring a lantern. For night fishing arrive before 9 PM when the concessions closes on Friday and Saturday so that you can purchase your fishing permit.
August 18th 1300 lbs
Catfish stock subject to change.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 6:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, so come early enough to buy your permit or boat.
