The catfish bite is heating up a little. Will, a Poway native and Lake Poway regular hooked and released an elusive albino catfish. Saturday saw some limits and some ones and twos from shore. Sunday was hot and windy so fewer anglers showed up. The next big events at Lake Poway will be early December for the Trout opener and the annual Youth Fishing Derby in early February.
The lake is dropping so there is more access to structure from the shore.

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 5:00 PM so come early enough to buy your permit.
