Night fishing and catfish season started off with a bang! Several boats brought in limits, including Cristina Huntley and David Smith, both from Ramona, who came in with a full stringer (see picture). They caught all 10 fish in just over an hour and a half, using mackerel and tied up the the east part of the log boom. The bite is better later in the day and the best spot seems to be along the log boom past the second drum. Night fishing continues Fridays and Saturdays through August 27th until 11:30 PM, boats must be in by 11:00 PM.
Next stock, Catfish, 1300 pounds, July 8th.
When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information. Remember concessions closes at 6:30 PM (9:00 PM during night fishing) so come early enough to buy your permit.
