The City of Poway is proud to announce the appointment of Melody Rocco to the position of city engineer. The city engineer oversees all engineering activities and programs of the Development Services department, including capital improvement program design, construction and inspection, traffic engineering, and land development engineering.
Rocco first began her career with the City of Poway as an assistant engineer in 2007. She was promoted to associate civil engineer in 2010 after obtaining her professional engineer license and then to senior civil engineer in 2013. She moved back east for two years, returning to the City of Poway in 2016. Prior to her promotion, Rocco worked on capital improvement projects as a senior civil engineer.
“This promotion allows me to continue my professional growth and development at the workplace I love most,” Rocco said. “I want nothing more than to work the rest of my career for the City of Poway.”
Rocco holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University and professional engineering licenses (PE) from both California and Pennsylvania.
