The City of Poway will begin construction to extend the left turn pocket from westbound Poway Road to southbound Pomerado Road. Beginning the week of Aug. 5, during construction hours southbound traffic at the intersection will be detoured via Oak Knoll Road.
The project will modify the existing center median on Poway Road (east of Pomerado Road) and allow for a greater number of cars to queue while waiting to turn left.
Motorists travelling in this area should expect delays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Signs will be placed at the intersection to guide motorists along the detour route. Construction is anticipated to be complete by Sept. 6.
