Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee

Overview


The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee was established by the City in recognition of the importance of resident involvement and input on park, recreation and community service projects throughout the City. 

The committee meets on an "as-needed" basis for the purpose of assisting with special projects that do not require regular meetings.

The committee consists of five members appointed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the City Council. Each Council member shall offer one nomination for appointment to the committee for Council consideration.

Applicant must reside within the City of Poway

None 
Financial Disclosure:
Must submit Conflict of Interest statements (FPPC Form 700) 
Training:
City staff provides an initial orientation.  Ethics Training is required by California Government Code within the first year of appointment and every two years thereafter. Sexual Harassment Prevention Training and Education is required within the first six months of appointment and every two years thereafter.

Committee Application

The City is currently accepting applications for five members to serve on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Anyone interested in applying should submit a completed application to the City Clerk’s Office online, by mail, or in person.  

The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. on February 15, 2019.  Appointments to the committee will be announced at the City Council meeting on March 5, 2019.  For further information, contact the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@poway.org or (858) 668-4530.
