The City of Poway will begin its annual street maintenance work the week of July 16, with completion scheduled for late Sept. 2018.
This year’s project will complete a slurry seal on Espola Road from just north of Poway High School to the western City limit near Summerfield Lane. The residential streets north and east of Espola Road will also be sealed. Work will be completed during normal business hours. Streets will be partially or completely closed for the day and reopened for traffic by 5:00 p.m. Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of the street work and emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
Work locations on Espola Road will change daily. Please pay attention to warning signs and give construction workers plenty of room as you travel by.
Additional information along with a map of Zone 1 streets will be posted at www.poway.org/roads as it becomes available.
In an effort to keep public streets safe and accessible, the City rotates street repairs, with one of eight street maintenance zones worked on each year. Poway maximizes the use of public funds by applying the right treatment at the right time to extend the life of the pavement. This approach maximizes pavement life using available and anticipated funding to prevent streets in good condition from degenerating to poor condition.
