Ongoing road work along Twin Peaks Road is part of a traffic signal upgrade project to improve safety and replace aged equipment. Construction recently started at the intersection of Twin Peaks and Silverset and will move to the Community Road and Midland intersections as the project continues. Temporary lane closures are possible, and motorists may encounter traffic delays on the stretch of road during construction.
The project will take several months to complete and portions of the work may be performed at night to minimize the impact to daytime traffic. Upgrades include detector loops, pull boxes, conduit and wiring, controllers, cabinets, and pre-emptive emergency vehicle devices.
The City will provide traffic updates via its Twitter account (@cityofpoway), but as crews are working with electrical parts and wiring, constructions plans may change due to weather or progress throughout the day.
