Bus Passes & Airport Shuttle

The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) website offers plenty of helpful information such as fares, how to plan a trip, and schedules and map routes. Americans with Disability Act (ADA) paratransit service is also available, to qualified, certified individuals. ADA certification is reserved for those whose disability prevents them from using the regular bus and trolley transit services.

New Routes
New Routes 944 and 945 will begin operating on Monday June 9, 2014 to correspond with MTS’ new Rapid service on Interstate 15.

Route 944 is the new number for Route 844, which is reconfigured to operate east to west along Poway Road between the Garden Road - Floral Avenue loop and the Sabre Springs - Peñasquitos Transit Station. On weekdays Route 944 will operate every 30 minutes in both directions from approximately 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, every 60 minutes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 945 is the new number for Route 845, which is extended north on Midland Road to the Old Poway Park area. On weekdays Route 945 will operate every 30 minutes in both directions from approximately 5:15 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays, every 45 minutes from 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Route 945A will provide 4 trips per weekday along the Twin Peaks Road - Espola Road - Pomerado Road - Poway Road loop at Poway High School bell times.

Bus Passes
The Compass Card, the San Diego region's new smart card for transit has replaced traditional bus passes. Go to 511's website to purchase or reload a Compass Card.

Call 511 and say "compass" to speak to a customer service center representative to purchase a pass with your credit or debit card.
Airport Services - Cloud 9 SuperShuttle
Separately from MTS services, the City of Poway and Cloud 9 SuperShuttle have an agreement offering Poway residents affordable service to San Diego International Airport, the San Diego Cruise Ship Terminal, and the Santa Fe Depot train station in downtown San Diego.

Poway residents living in the 92064 zip code will receive a 10% discount by using the discount code POWAY at the time of making a telephone or on-line round-trip reservation.
