The Swim Center is closed for critical mechanical repairs and required renovations necessary to keep the swim center, built in 1989, operational and code compliant. Swim lessons, reservations and other aquatics programs will not be available during this time.
One of the most critical steps in wrapping up any capital project is making sure it’s done right. With the swim center renovation, this has meant thoroughly testing all equipment and systems before the City accepts the project and assumes financial responsibility for future repairs. Much of the comprehensive testing and inspection process could not be completed until there was water in the pool. Through this testing we identified piping adjustments in the shallow end that need to be addressed. The contractor began taking the water level down in the shallow end of the pool as work cannot be completed with the inlets submerged.
